Lasius pallitarsis (Pale-Legged Fuzzy Ants)
Lasius pallitarsis (Pale-Legged Fuzzy Ants)
Lasius pallitarsis are most commonly found in the Eastern Provinces, although their range does encompass most of Canadas Provinces. Their colonies get massive, around 10,000 to 20,000 workers
Queens purchased from August to March will need to be diapaused for 3-4 months before they start to lay/develop brood. If we have already done part/all of it we will let you know.
We sell Lasius pallitarsis separately from Lasius neoniger, mostly because both are host species for a variety of Lasius parasites (Lasius species that take over nests of other Lasius species) and those parasites might be unable to found without a *specific species*.
Lasius pallitarsis can be used as a host for the following species:
Lasius coloradensis and Lasius subumbratus most notably, although a lot of other speices may use them as hosts they would likley prefer neoniger over pallitarsis
Here is a quick guide on telling Lasius neoniger and pallitarsis apart:

(We may accidentally send neoniger instead of pallitarsis, please contact us if we do mix it up we will make it up to you via store credit)
